The concept of 3D ECT system with increased border area sensitivity for crystallization processes diagnosis

Purpose Crystallization is the process widely used for components separation and solids purification. The systems crystallization evaluation applied so far, involve numerous non-invasive tomographic measurement techniques which suffers from some reported problems. purpose of this paper to show abilities three-dimensional Electrical Capacitance Tomography (3D ECT) in context non-intrusive visualization processes. Multiple aspects problems ECT imaging, as well computer model design work with high relative permittivity liquids, have been pointed out. Design/methodology/approach To most efficient (from a mechanical electrical point view) 3D sensor structure, high-precise impedance meter was applied. three types were designed, built, tested. meet new concept requirements, dedicated device has constructed. Findings It shown that technique can be diagnosis crystallization. crystals distribution identified using technique. achieved resolution allows detecting localization crystals. usage stabilized electrodes improves sensitivity provides images better suitable further analysis. Originality/value construction proposed increase its border area, where grow. Regarding feature, algorithms potential field matrix calculation developed. adaptation iterative image reconstruction also described.
